American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL) extends Boeing 737 MAX cancellations into September
- American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL) today announced that its extending flight cancellations related to the grounded Boeing (NYSE:BA) 737 Max plane up to September 3.
- The airline has extended the cancellation of approximately 115 daily flights, given that the 737 Max plane remains grounded.
AAL, which is the largest airline in the U.S., made the announcement that the 737 Max was yet to complete a mandatory test flight for certification.
Boeing is yet to submit the formal version of the software upgrade for the Max plane, as well as the updated training procedures to the FAA.
However, Boeing said that it is working with global regulators to meet the requirements for the Max’s re-certification.
