AVIVA TO SLASH 1,800 JOBS GLOBALLY
- Aviva aims to save £300 million a year by 2022
- The workforce will be shocked, claims the Unite union
Aviva plc (LON: AV), a British insurance giant, announced plans to axe 1,800 jobs worldwide over the next three years.
The company decided to cut costs and split the business in two as it looks to cut costs by £300 million a year by 2022.
“The workforce would be shocked by [this] news. The scale of this role reduction will be met with disbelief across the company,” said the Unite Union’s officer for Aviva, Andy Case.
