- New team to build advanced systems to remove harmful content from the platform
- VP talks of “determination to do everything we can to keep Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) safe and secure”
Facebook is stepping up efforts to jettison harmful content from its platform after creating 500 new tech jobs in London.
“Many of these new roles will accelerate our artificial intelligence work in London as we continue developing technology to proactively detect and remove malicious content,” Facebook EMEA vice president, Nicola Mendelsohn said on Wednesday.
The social media giant is under pressure from the government to do more to control the mass of malicious content posted on the site. Facebook wants the new team to build an AI and advanced software system capable of detecting and removing content.
