General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) says longer reviews of business units are part of its new culture
- General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) yesterday announced that it is spending several days reviewing operations at its different divisions each quarter.
- This is a major departure for the manufacturing conglomerate, which used to spend just hours reviewing each unit’s quarterly performance in the past.
Jamie Miller, GE’s Chief Financial Officer said yesterday that longer reviews of individual business units are part of the cultural changes being implemented by Larry Culp, GE’s new CEO.
Miller said: “You can’t have the flyby where you’re not talking about the real issues, right, because you’re staring at the facts.”
“You start to think about what allows candour to come to the surface.”
