- Target Corp. (NYSE:TGT) announced today that it was expanding same-day deliveries of online orders to 47 states.
- This is a major move to counter similar services being offered by its main rivals, Walmart (NYSE:WMT) and Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN).
The expanded service will see customers who shop at Target.com paying a flat delivery fee of $9.99 to receive their orders on the same day.
Target acquired delivery platform Shipt in 2017 and are using it to launch and execute the expanded service. The offer currently covers approximately 65,000 items that are sold through Target.com. This is an additional service, given that Target currently offers same-day delivery to Shipt members who pay $99 annually.
