TEL (T:8305) TO HONOUR US BLACKLIST OF CHINESE COMPANIES
- TEL to stop selling its products to blacklisted Chinese firms
- Other Japanese companies considering similar actions
Tokyo Electron Limited (T:8305), better known as TEL, said it will stop selling its products to Chinese clients blacklisted by Washington. TEL is considered to be the world’s third-biggest supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
“We would not do businesses with Chinese clients with whom Applied Materials and Lam Research are barred from doing businesses. It’s crucial for us that the US government and industry see us as a fair company.” the senior executive told Reuters.
Other major Japanese companies are also considering stopping shipments to blacklisted Chinese companies.
