Walmart Inc. set to deliver groceries to their customers’ fridges
- Walmart Inc. (NYSE:WMT) announced a new service today that will see it deliver groceries to customers fridges even when they are not home.
- The retailer will launch the service in three U.S. cities during the fall season with the aim of revolutionising food delivery.
Doug McMillon, Walmart’s CEO, issued a statement saying:
“Once we learned how to do pickup well, we knew it would unlock the ability to deliver,” “But what if we not only cover the last mile to customers’ homes but even the last few steps?
What if we put their groceries away inside their kitchens or garages…?”
Extensively trained and tenured Walmart employees will handle the new delivery service.
