What is the difference between equity and stocks?
Adam Hasden replied to Nick R's question in Stocks
Share capital can be another name for the money invested into the company by stockholders, the difference between equity and share capital is that share capital doesn’t include retained earnings, while equity does. -
All in all, it depends what type of investor you are - long term or short term, and what is the size of the capital you are looking to invest.

The 3-day rule when trading in stocks is a requirement put in place by the U.S. Securities and Trade Commission (SEC), which ensures that all trades and transactions must be settled in no longer than a 3-day limit.

You can also have a backup plan where you build other cash generators such that even if the market is doing poorly, your other investments are pouring money into your accounts.
