0 Ilija Rankovic
Yes, LocalBitcoins did indeed remove in-person transfers. The Finnish peer-to-peer Bitcoin trading platform removed in-person crypto-cash trading from its service on June 1st and didn’t notify anyone or make an announcement anywhere. Three days later, the company publicly announced the removal of the in-person trading feature on Twitter. LocalBitcoins stated that the shutdown of local cash trading had to happen since the company could “adapt to the current regulatory environment.” In the days when the option got removed and there were no announcements, people were clueless and enraged. Further confirmation of the removal of the option to trade in-person angered the platform users, who started to look for anonymity on decentralized platforms.
