Japan is known for being crypto-friendly, and now, one hundred of the biggest companies in the country will be participating in a data-sharing initiative. The project, which was announced yesterday, will use blockchain technology as its security feature and will start in 2020. The aim is for participants to enhance overall efficiency by sharing production data between the companies. The project founder and controller is the Industrial Value Chain Initiative, an organisation which formed four years ago. Nikkei stated that “Blockchain [...] is expected to lower the risk of data leaks compared with managing the information on servers, as well as reduce operating costs.”
