Hello, thanks for asking!

Swing trading comes with a lot of advantages and disadvantages. Advantages are abilities to identify opportunities more easily, and thus use these opportunities in a short period of time, which also enables you to prevent any losses that may incur over a longer period of time, with a clear set of boundaries.

Disadvantages of swing trading are that you have to have expertise in technical analysis, and even if you are, markets can prove unreliable and inflict losses on you, therefore a lot of attention and nerves is required.

Downside

Requires more time for you to know whether your the strategy worked or not.

More capital to make meaningful profits.

Having some experience with the market and news volatility, to control you emotions to help held the positions.

Upside

If you are good with patterns, and making sense of charts by observing them, you can come up with a profitable strategy.

You don't need to be full-time. You can pick stocks on weekends, place alarms/triggers that'll notify you on your set strategic price levels, to monitor your positions.

Less emotional stress, as you don't spent most of your time observing volatility in the charts.
