Shares in Ceres Power Holdings (LON: CWR) rallied sharply on Tuesday, climbing as much as 9–12% to trade between 383p and 395p, in what chart watchers are calling a textbook technical rebound following a punishing month-long decline.
The fuel cell technology developer had shed nearly 40% of its value since peaking at an all-time high of 873p on May 29, sliding to a low of 351.2p by Monday’s close — a drawdown that pushed the stock deep into oversold territory on most momentum indicators.
With no fresh company-specific catalyst behind the fall, technical analysts had flagged Ceres as a prime candidate for a “dead cat bounce” or genuine reversal once selling pressure exhausted itself.

Tuesday’s price action bore the hallmarks of capitulation-and-reversal: a sharp intraday range (351.2p to 400p+) on elevated volume suggests short-covering and bargain-hunting buyers stepping in near a key psychological support zone around 350p. The bounce also came alongside broader FTSE 250 strength, adding tailwind momentum to the recovery.
Traders will now watch whether Ceres can hold above the 380p–400p zone, which could act as near-term resistance given it roughly marks the midpoint of the recent decline. A sustained break higher would target the 450p–500p region, while a failure to hold gains risks a retest of the 350p low.
With the stock still up substantially over the trailing 12 months despite the correction, Tuesday’s move looks more like exhausted-seller mechanics than a fundamental re-rating.
