Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the linchpin of the global semiconductor industry unveiled its Q3 2025 earnings report this morning. The world's largest contract chipmaker is riding a wave of unprecedented demand fueled by the explosion in artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
The consensus estimate for Q3 2025 earnings per share (EPS) was $2.66, which the company beat handily, with a $2.92 EPS print. Revenue came in at $33.1billion, also a beat on the $31.99billion expected on the street.
Profit came in at ~$14.8billion, with 57% of total revenue coming from it's high performance computing division (AI, data center chips). Guidance for Q4 of between $32.2B-$33.4B, with gross margins forecast at 60% at the midpoint of range have the stock moving higher in overnight trading.
Much of this growth is attributed to the insatiable demand for AI infrastructure. Companies like Nvidia and Apple, heavily reliant on TSMC's advanced chip manufacturing capabilities, are driving a surge in orders. AI has become a global strategic priority, and TSMC sits at the very heart of this technological revolution.
Analysts are already revising their outlook for TSMC. Morgan Stanley recently raised its price target for the stock to NT$1,588 from NT$1,388, citing the potent combination of strong AI demand, stable foreign exchange rates, and TSMC's impressive pricing power. They anticipate that TSMC will exceed its Q4 2025 revenue and gross margin guidance, reaffirming their conviction that TSMC is a top pick in the sector.
TSMC's U.S.-listed shares have been flirting with record highs, eyeing a breakout above the current high of $307.30. This bullish momentum reflects the market's confidence in TSMC's dominant position and its ability to capitalize on the AI boom.
The stock is currently changing hands above $308.70 in overnight trading, indicating a new high could be in store at the open.
