Monday Morning Markets: Segro Slips as Prologis Sweetens Bid; Busy Earnings Week Ahead

London stocks have started the week slightly lower, with the FTSE 100 down 0.3% and the FTSE 250 off 0.2%, while the continent has fared better, with Germany’s DAX and France’s CAC 40 both up 0.3% and the Euro Stoxx 50 adding 0.2%.

Brent crude was flat despite continued U.S. strikes on Iran.

Meanwhile, attention turns to a busy domestic calendar, with UK unemployment data due Tuesday morning and results this week from several firms, including Relx, BT and easyJet.

Segro (LON: SGRO) is down around 2% after Prologis disclosed a third takeover proposal, rejected by the board on Friday, now including a partial cash alternative valuing the warehouse landlord at 993 pence per share, or around £13.5 billion.

The U.S. group faces a deadline of Wednesday, July 22, to make a firm offer or walk away.

Bunzl (LON: BNZL) has lost 1.50%, and Halma (LON: HLMA) hasslipped 1.47%.

Computacenter (LON: CCC) leads the blue-chip risers, up 3.49%, ahead of Auto Trader (LON: AUTO), up 1.06%, and Fresnillo (LON: FRES), which has gained 1.02% as gold steadies.

Elsewhere, Big Yellow (LON: BYG) reported first-quarter revenue up 3%, helped by new store openings, though it flagged like-for-like operating costs rising 4% in the first half.

AIM-listed Craneware (LON: CRW) disclosed a cybersecurity incident in which employee data and a subset of customer and partner records were accessed and exfiltrated, though it said the breach has been contained with no disruption to operations.

In the FTSE 250, IP Group (LON: IPO) has risen 3.72%, Ithaca Energy (LON:ITH) has gained 3.64% and Ocado (LON: OCDO) extended its rebound, up 3.09%.

Dr. Martens (LON: DOCS) fell 4.87%, Oxford Biomedica (LON: OXB) lost 4.18% and Schiehallion Fund (LON: MNTN) dropped 2.81%.
