Porvair plc (LON: PRV), a specialist in filtration, laboratory, and environmental technologies, has announced the acquisition of Drache Umwelttechnik GmbH for €20.5 million.
The acquisition, finalized today, aims to enhance Porvair's Metal Melt Quality division and expand its global footprint.
The cash consideration includes approximately €4 million for two freehold operational sites in Diez, Germany. Drache, founded in 1984, specializes in filters, consumables, and equipment for the molten metal industry, particularly serving the aluminium filtration market.
Drache's unaudited revenues for the year ending December 2025 are expected to be approximately €20 million. Porvair anticipates the acquisition to be earnings-enhancing in the year ending November 30, 2026, after factoring in integration costs. Drache employs around 100 individuals across Germany, the US, and the UAE.
This acquisition aligns with Porvair's strategy to strengthen its position in attractive end markets. The Metal Melt Quality division benefits from growing global demand for aluminium filtration, driven by aluminium's recyclability, strength-to-weight ratio, and energy efficiency in recycling processes.
The addition of Drache complements Porvair's existing investments, including a £5.5 million project to upgrade cast house capabilities in Hendersonville, US, which is slated for completion in the first half of 2026. The acquisition will be funded from the Group’s existing cash reserves and banking facilities, resulting in a modest net cash position post-completion.
CEO Hooman Caman Javvi stated, “I am delighted to welcome Drache and its employees to the Group…This Acquisition is consistent with our strategy to acquire complementary businesses in attractive end-markets to underpin the Group's long-term growth potential.”
Porvair will announce its results for the year ended November 30, 2025, on Monday, February 9, 2026, where further details regarding the acquisition's impact will likely be discussed.
