Wishbone Gold Plc (LON: WSBN), the AIM-listed exploration company, is accelerating its activities at the Red Setter Gold Dome Project in Western Australia, located 20km South-West of Greatland Gold Plc's Telfer gold mine.

The company said in an update on Friday that it is initiating reverse circulation (RC) drilling on October 21st to complement ongoing diamond drilling efforts.

Diamond drilling on hole 2 (25RSDD002) reached a depth of 950m, revealing multiple zones of fracturing with pyrite. The core samples are slated for dispatch to Perth and ALS Laboratories for cutting and assay, with results anticipated in the near term.

The diamond drill rig has now moved to hole 3 (25RSDD003), situated 1.6km north of the initial drill holes, targeting a depth of 500m.

Hole 3 aims to follow up on previous drilling, specifically WRSDD0008, which intercepted 7m @ 2g/t gold and 0.38 copper from 273m. This is said to represent a key area of interest for the company as it seeks to expand its understanding of the gold and copper mineralization at Red Setter.

The Schramm T685i RC rig, supplied by Core Drilling Services, will commence drilling operations imminently. The RC rig will serve multiple purposes, including generating additional target angles into the Red Setter Dome, drilling additional water bores to support double shifting diamond drilling, and targeting shallower copper gold intercepts from 117m reported in prior drilling around the diorite dyke.

Wishbone Gold has contracted the RC rig for an initial 5,000m of drilling, indicating a significant commitment to expanding the scope of exploration at Red Setter. The dual drilling approach, utilizing both diamond and RC rigs, is designed to expedite exploration and provide a more comprehensive understanding of the geological structures and potential mineralization.

Ed Mead, Wishbone Gold WA director, noted the intensified activity: “Diamond drilling is now on double shift and with the Reverse Circulation drill rig arriving this weekend we are ramping up activities to expedite exploration. I look forward to the results arriving soon from the first drill hole, and while we await these results, we have sent the diamond rig to nearby hole 3 to investigate past findings. I look forward to presenting further updates on progress shortly.”
