Rolls-Royce Shares Outperforming as Turkish Technic Agreement Announced

Rolls-Royce and Turkish Technic have announced plans to establish a new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) center at Istanbul Airport. Scheduled to be operational by the end of 2027, the facility will enhance the Rolls-Royce MRO network and is expected to handle maintenance for the Trent XWB-97, Trent XWB-84, and Trent 7000 engines.

The planned facility will have a capacity of approximately 200 shop visits per year and aims to serve both third-party Rolls-Royce TotalCare customers as well as the Turkish Airlines fleet. Turkish Airlines, having placed a significant order for Airbus A350 aircraft, is set to become the world’s largest operator of the Trent XWB engine. This order includes 120 Trent XWB-84 engines and 40 Trent XWB-97 engines, underlining the significance of the new MRO center.

In April 2024, Rolls-Royce reaffirmed its commitment to Türkiye by exploring various industrial initiatives, further solidifying its strategic partnership with the region. The collaboration with Turkish Technic represents a significant investment in the future of aerospace operations in Türkiye.
