Vodafone Inks UEFA Partnership

Vodafone Group (LON:VOD) announced a multi-year partnership with UEFA and UC3 on Friday.

The company revealed that the deal encompasses sponsorship of UEFA Women’s Football through 2030 and official licensee status for the UEFA Champions League for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 seasons.

The agreement positions Vodafone as an official partner of UEFA Women’s Champions League, UEFA Women’s EURO 2029, UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2027, UEFA Women’s Nations League, Women’s European Qualifiers, UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship, and UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship.

Concurrently, Vodafone said it will launch the Champions Travel eSIM, catering to travelling football fans and international travellers.

The company explained that the eSIM will provide global data connectivity in 206 countries, including UEFA’s 55 member associations, offering unlimited data, Wi-Fi hotspot creation, and dedicated customer service. Customers will also have opportunities to win free match tickets.

The strategic alliance represents a significant investment in Vodafone’s brand, aligning with its focus on customer engagement. The UEFA partnership complements Vodafone’s existing sports sponsorships, including Borussia Dortmund, Wimbledon, Scottish Rugby, and others.

Ahmed Essam, CEO of European Markets at Vodafone, emphasized the excitement surrounding the partnership with women’s football and the potential of the Champions Travel eSIM to enhance the fan experience.

Nadine Kessler, UEFA women’s football director, lauded Vodafone’s commitment and global reach, highlighting the company as an ideal partner to advance the women’s game and inspire future generations.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA executive director of marketing, echoed Kessler’s sentiments, emphasizing the seamless alignment between Vodafone’s support for sport, innovation, and inclusion with UEFA’s ambition to grow the game.
