Centrica plc (LON: CNA) announced the appointment of Frank Mastiaux as a Non-Executive Director, effective September 22, 2025.

Mastiaux will also serve on the Company's Safety, Environment and Sustainability Committee (SESC).

Mastiaux brings over three decades of experience in the energy sector to Centrica's board. His tenure as CEO of Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW) from 2012 to 2022 saw a significant increase in the company's market capitalization and its positioning as a leader in renewable energy. Prior to EnBW, he held senior leadership positions at BP and E.ON.

Currently, Mastiaux chairs Sunfire SE, a hydrogen technology company, and serves as an advisory board member at Boehringer Ingelheim. His previous experience includes a Supervisory Board role at Alstom Group. His background in both traditional and renewable energy sources is expected to be a valuable asset to Centrica.

Kevin O'Byrne, Chair of Centrica, expressed his enthusiasm for Mastiaux's appointment, highlighting his experience in leading major transformations at large European utilities.

He stated that Mastiaux's understanding of both legacy and low-carbon energy systems will be invaluable as Centrica continues to execute its strategy.

“I am very pleased to join Centrica as a Non-Executive Director. Centrica's commitment to navigating the energy transition and its focus on sustainability align with my values and experience,” Mastiaux said. “I look forward to working with the Board to support the talented team at Centrica to drive innovation and growth in the energy sector.”
