Warner Music Group Stock (WMG) Underperforming Ahead of Earnings

Wall Street is tuning in for Warner Music Group Corp.’s (NASDAQ: WMG) earnings report, scheduled for release before market open tomorrow, November 20, 2025. The music giant’s stock currently trades at $30.00, down 4.15% on the year. Investors are eager to see if WMG can strike a chord with its financial performance and justify the bullish sentiment echoed by several analysts.

Revenue is expected to have grown by 3.37% Y/Y to $1.68billion, whilst EPS is pegged at $0.33 on the quarter. Next year’s full EPS estimate of $1.47 would reflect a solid improvement on the $1.12 expected by the close of FY25.

Analysts, on average, project a 12-month price target of $35.87 for WMG, suggesting a potential upside of 18.17% from the current price. This optimistic outlook is fueled by expectations of continued growth in subscription and ad-supported streaming, as well as improved margin expansion and free cash flow conversion. It’s important to remember that analyst estimates are not guarantees and can be influenced by unforeseen market dynamics.

Recent analyst actions reflect this generally positive view. Goldman Sachs recently raised its price target for WMG to $31.00, citing better-than-expected streaming growth. Bernstein SocGen followed suit, increasing its target to $35.00, emphasizing WMG’s sustained profitability and market share gains. Perhaps the most significant move came from Wells Fargo & Company, which upgraded WMG to “Overweight” and boosted its target price to $39.00, demonstrating strong confidence in the company’s strategic direction.

Beyond analyst ratings, WMG has been actively pursuing strategic partnerships to expand its reach and revenue streams. The collaboration with Feed.fm to launch Feed Clips, an API that integrates licensed music clips, is a prime example. In addition to this, WMG consistently rewards its investors with a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.18 per share, underlining the company’s commitment to shareholder value.

Bulls will be eyeing an upside surprise, and strong guidance to flip the narrative on this underperformer through the remainder of the year.
