Plus500 (LON: PLUS), a global multi-asset fintech group, has been appointed as the clearing partner for CME Group and FanDuel’s new event-based contracts platform.

Plus500 shares edged higher following the news.

The partnership will see Plus500 providing brokerage-execution and clearing services for FanDuel Prediction Markets, a non-clearing Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) and a joint venture between CME Group and FanDuel, which is part of Flutter Entertainment plc.

The arrangement allows Plus500 to leverage its robust, institutional-grade infrastructure to provide secure and scalable access for the FCM’s clients.

This collaboration highlights Plus500's operational strengths and its capability to ensure robust execution, settlement, and risk management for event-driven trading.

The company's technology, regulatory expertise, and infrastructure are well-suited to deliver clearing services for future products and event-driven trading markets globally.

The markets are likely to view this appointment as a significant positive for Plus500, potentially influencing its stock price in the short term.

The news confirms Plus500's transition from a pure retail trading platform to a more diversified financial technology provider, capable of serving institutional clients.

David Zruia, Chief Executive Officer of Plus500, commented: “Being chosen to clear for this groundbreaking initiative is a historic milestone for Plus500. It reflects our capabilities as an accredited, trusted market infrastructure provider, built on proprietary technology, regulatory expertise, and a focus on institutional collaboration.

“It also demonstrates the superiority of our operational processes and status as a global multi-asset fintech group on the international stage. We are proud to work with the CME and FanDuel to broaden global market access for millions of new customers.”
