Defence Holdings (ALRT) Shares Jump on MoD Transparency Notice

Shares in Defence Holdings PLC (LON: ALRT), the UK’s first listed software-led defence technology group, surged more than 14% on Thursday after the UK Government published a Transparency Notice relating to a proposed Ministry of Defence (MoD) contract involving the company.

The stock climbed from a previous close of 1.05p to trade as high as 1.35p intraday, closing the session at 1.20p on heavy volume of over 53 million shares — underscoring strong investor interest in the announcement.

The Transparency Notice, published on GOV.UK, outlines a proposed £226,000 engagement over a three-month term to test an integrated intelligence, decision-support and operational effects capability. The technology is designed to fuse open-source and classified intelligence into a single analytical platform, generating Courses of Action and supporting the rapid, human-controlled deployment of authorised effects across cyber, information and supply-chain domains.

While the contract value is relatively modest, analysts and investors view the announcement as a significant strategic milestone. Winning a testing mandate with the MoD would position Defence Holdings as an active participant in the UK’s growing push to integrate intelligence, cyber operations and information warfare into unified operational frameworks — a fast-expanding priority across Western defence establishments.

Subject to completion of the relevant approval and procurement processes, this would represent Defence Holdings’ first direct contract award with the Ministry of Defence.
