Hargreaves Services Wins Sizewell C Water Treatment Contract, Value Undisclosed

Hargreaves Services has been picked by Sizewell C Limited to build three foul water treatment facilities over two years, but gave no contract value and said the work only supports existing forecasts.

Hargreaves Services (LON: HSP), the Newcastle-based engineering and infrastructure services group, has been selected by Sizewell C Limited to build three foul water treatment facilities for the Sizewell C nuclear project. The company said in a stock exchange announcement at 7am today that delivery runs over two years from early 2027.

Hargreaves, listed on AIM, London’s market for smaller companies, closed yesterday at 834p, unchanged on the previous close and below its 880p intraday high, reached on the 21st of September and the 1st of October.

Sizewell C Limited, the company building the nuclear power station in Suffolk, has given Hargreaves the design, procurement, manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning of the facilities, which clean sewage-type wastewater on site. Revenue is expected across the years ending 31 May 2027 and 31 May 2028. Chief Executive Simon Hicks said:

We are delighted to have been selected by Sizewell C for this critical aspect of the wider nuclear project.

No contract value was disclosed. The Board said it expects the award to help underpin existing revenue and underlying PBT (profit before tax, excluding one-offs) forecasts for both years, so it supports guidance rather than lifting it.

The company’s own reading of consensus, the average analyst forecast, is revenue of £292.1m and underlying PBT of £17.9m for the year to 31 May 2027, and £305.2m and £18.6m the year after. In the year to 31 May 2025, revenue was £264.4m and underlying PBT £17.6m.

Sizewell C is already one of two large infrastructure projects at Hargreaves, alongside HS2, and the group’s June trading update said it had also secured a first position on the Lower Thames Crossing, a third. Jon Loveday, Sizewell C’s Chief Commercial Officer, said its UK spend is now around £5bn.

With no value attached, the contract adds visibility on future work rather than a new number. The first trades after the announcement will show how the market weighs it.
