Wednesday Morning Markets: FTSE Steady as Strikes Hit Saudi Sites, Softcat Slides

The FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 opened slightly higher on Wednesday while Brent held near $105.77 as the conflict in the Middle East hit Saudi energy sites.

London opened slightly higher, with the FTSE 100 up 0.1% in early trade. The FTSE 250 is up 0.2%, and Brent is flat at $105.77.

Oil steady despite Gulf strikes

The Saudi energy ministry said a strike caused a small fire at an Aramco building in Dhahran, with no injuries. It followed a Houthi warning to civilians to evacuate Saudi oil sites.

The Saudi-led coalition is meanwhile striking Houthi energy terminals and fuel reserves in Yemen.
