Apple Reportedly Set to Launch Apple Intelligence in China in December

Bloomberg reports Apple is preparing to bring Apple Intelligence to mainland China in December, after a long regulatory delay. The plan is unconfirmed.

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) is reportedly preparing to launch its Apple Intelligence AI features in mainland China in December, Bloomberg reported. The iPhone maker’s shares were up about 0.5% in the latest delayed quote today.

Shares in Apple were quoted at $342.96 at about 9:12pm UK time, against a previous close of $341.27, a gain of $1.69. That is a delayed quote, not a confirmed close.

The report appeared at about 8:50pm UK time, roughly ten minutes before the US close and after London had shut. The day’s gain therefore cannot be pinned on it, and the market had little time to react.

Apple is gearing up to release its AI platform in mainland China. A lengthy regulatory delay has kept those features out of one of the company’s most important markets.

According to people with knowledge of the matter, the launch is planned for December as part of iOS 27.3, an upcoming point update to the iPhone software. It is a reported plan, not an announced date.

The debut is set to cover the AI features first rolled out in the US two years ago, on the iPhone, iPad and Mac. Apple Intelligence is Apple’s suite of AI features.

For a UK holder, this is a reported intention, not a confirmed launch. No regulatory approval or local partner has been named.

The next marker is whether Apple confirms the timetable, or iOS 27.3 arrives in December with the features included.
