Infineon’s Fiscal 2027 Outlook is the Key Catalyst, Analyst Says

mwb research expects Infineon Technologies (ETR: IFX) to deliver a solid fourth quarter on Nov. 10, but analyst Abed Jarad told investors in a note that attention will shift to the chipmaker’s fiscal 2027 outlook.

The firm kept a Hold rating and 60 euro price target on the stock, comfortably above the current price of 52.47 euros.

Jarad said there is “limited scope for a material surprise” in the quarter. Management guides for revenue of about 4.7 billion euros, broadly in line with the consensus and up 13% sequentially and 19% year over year, with a segment result margin of around 23%.

Power and sensor systems should remain the main growth engine, according to mwb. They added that it will be helped by AI power demand and capacity expansion, while green industrial power benefits from the broader industrial recovery.

In automotive, Jarad expects a more gradual improvement, with the high-voltage drivetrain business continuing to weigh on profitability.

“With Q4 expectations broadly aligned with guidance, we expect the market’s focus to shift primarily towards the FY27 outlook, where the trajectory of growth and margin expansion should prove more decisive for a re-rating,” he wrote.

mwb models fiscal 2027 revenue growth of 19%, below consensus of 21.5%, and a segment result margin of 24%, against 25.3% expected by the Street.

Jarad sees scope for management to raise its fiscal 2027 AI revenue ambition to about 3 billion euros from more than 2.5 billion. However, he flagged costs from the Dresden Smart Power Fab ramp-up, persistent automotive headwinds and an uneven industrial recovery as constraints on margins.

With the stock at about 16 times 2027 enterprise value to segment result, he said that “a sustained re-rating will depend on stronger margin conversion beyond AI.”
