What was behind it

The drop coincided with the company’s announcement that chief financial officer James Kehoe will step down on the 5th of November, tomorrow, which looked the main trigger, though results came in the same release. He stays on as a non-executive senior advisor through March 2027. Alexandra Brooks, executive vice president and chief accounting officer and a former Hertz Global Holdings CFO, becomes interim CFO.

The same release carried third-quarter results. Adjusted earnings per share of $1.61 matched the average of 12 analysts’ forecasts, and revenue of $3.45bn beat the $3.43bn estimate of ten analysts. The board and chief executive have started a search for a permanent CFO, considering internal and external candidates.
