Spire Global’s stock (NYSE: SPIR) is trading at $9.27 ahead of earnings, in the midst of a rally off lows over the past month leading in. Despite a recent uptick that has seen SPIR gain 26.64% on a 1 month basis, the stock remains down 36% year-to-date, highlighting what has been a volatile year for holders of the space-based data and analytics company.

With earnings due before the market open, there are plenty watching the print for clues as to what could come next. Wall Street is expecting EPS losses to narrow from $0.43 this time last year, to -$0.33 for the current quarter. The consensus estimate for the next quarter’s EPS stands at -$0.25, with the coming making some inroads towards neutral.

Revenue expectations for the quarter are set at $21.17 million, which would reflect a 25.9% decline on the same period last year. Full-year revenue estimates are between $88.27 million to $89 million, with a ~9.2% growth rate currently expected moving into FY26.

Insider trading activity has also drawn attention. Chairman Peter Platzer sold 117,236 shares at an average price of $8.40 on November 11, 2025, reducing his holdings by 7.36%. Such transactions are often scrutinized by investors for insights into management’s outlook.

Despite these challenges, Spire has secured strategic contracts and achieved technological milestones. Notably, the company announced a contract with Deloitte to design, build, and operate eight satellites for Deloitte’s Silent Shield on-orbit cyber program on December 1. This partnership showcases Spire’s capabilities and potential in the cybersecurity space.

The company’s Hyperspectral Microwave Sounder (HyMS) also completed environmental and flight-qualification testing, with integration planned for an upcoming SpaceX Falcon 9 launch.

Options market activity indicates an anticipated price movement of approximately 6.5%, or about $0.83, following the earnings release. Historically, the median price change post-earnings for SPIR has been 3.1%. This suggests that the market expects an outsized reaction this time around, perhaps no surprise given the volatility over the year.

The company’s cash position will be of interest. Previously reported as strong, with $117.6 million reported as of June 30, 2025, and projections to end the year with over $100 million, financial stability is crucial for funding ongoing operations and investments in future growth.

Given these factors, the market’s reaction to Spire’s earnings report will likely hinge on the company’s ability to meet revenue expectations, manage expenses, and provide a clear path towards profitability.
