Rathbone Brothers Shares Hit Fresh 52-Week Low Today

Rathbone Brothers (LON: RAT) shares touched a fresh 52-week low in early trade today, dropping to 1,562p and undercutting the previous year’s low of 1,580p set in May 2025.

Rathbone Brothers (LON: RAT), the UK wealth manager, touched a fresh 52-week low in early trade on Thursday, 24 September, in a thin start to the session. The shares fell to 1,562p at 08:10 London time, before recovering slightly to a last quote of 1,578p, down 0.5% so far on the day.

Today’s move takes the stock below the previous 52-week low of 1,580p, which had stood since 8 May 2025. It also leaves the shares well beneath the past year’s high of 1,622p, a range of more than 60p across the year that shows how far the stock has slipped from its recent trading band. Turnover so far has been especially light, running at only around six percent of the stock’s average daily volume, a sign that today’s move has come on limited participation this early in the session.

How unusual this is

The break below 1,580p ends a run of some 16 months in which that level had held as the stock’s floor, against a price history stretching back more than five years. Across the past 252 trading sessions, roughly a year of daily prices, the shares have not traded lower than they did in early trade today, making this low the freshest extreme in that window rather than a marginal dip within an established range.

The previous 52-week low of 1,580p had stood since 8 May 2025, a level the stock had not broken in more than a year of trading until today’s move pushed it lower. That previous floor sits closer to the year’s high of 1,622p than to today’s low, underlining the scale of the swing in Rathbone Brothers shares over the past twelve months.
