Micron Revenue Hits $54.2bn, Beating Forecasts, as Guidance Points to $61.5bn
Micron’s fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23bn beat analyst forecasts, and its guidance for the next quarter sits well above consensus. Shares edged higher in after-hours trading.
Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU), the memory chip maker, reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23bn after the US close today, ahead of the $51.51bn expected by analysts surveyed by Yahoo Finance. Adjusted earnings were $33.42 a share against a consensus of $31.82.
Shares were up about 1.3% in after-hours trading after the results. MU closed at $1,065.11 today, virtually unchanged on the day.
Revenue for the quarter to the 3rd of September was up from $41.46bn in the previous quarter and almost five times the $11.32bn of a year earlier. The non-GAAP gross margin, which strips out certain accounting items, reached 87.0%, against 45.7% a year ago.

The guidance matters as much as the quarter. Micron expects fiscal first-quarter revenue of $61.5bn, plus or minus $1.5bn, and adjusted earnings of $38.15 a share, plus or minus $1.00.

The revenue beat was about $2.7bn, or 5.3%. The guidance midpoint is about $3.6bn, or 6.2%, above the next-quarter consensus.
Core Data Center, the unit selling memory for servers, produced $18.00bn of revenue at a 90% gross margin, compared with $1.58bn a year earlier. Operating cash flow was $43.97bn, against $5.73bn a year ago.

Noncurrent customer contract liabilities rose to $12.90bn from $0.57bn in the prior quarter. Mehrotra said the company’s Strategic Customer Agreements add confidence in the durability of its financial performance.
US trading resumes tomorrow, when the results and the forecast may serve as a reference point for other AI-memory and semiconductor stocks. Micron hosts its conference call at 9:30pm UK time tonight and pays a $0.15 dividend on the 29th of October to holders of record on the 14th of October.
