Open Account Spread bets and CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. 68% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading spread bets and CFDs with this provider. You should consider whether you understand how spread bets and CFDs work, and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

Prior to her advisory role, Christianson was Co-CEO, Asia Pacific, and CEO, Morgan Stanley China from 2006 to 2022. Her experience includes senior regulatory roles at the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, where she helped shape regulations enabling Chinese companies to list outside of China.

This background provides HSBC with valuable insight into navigating the complex regulatory landscape of the region.

The HSBC Board has affirmed Christianson’s independence, stating that no relationships or circumstances are likely to affect her judgment. Any potential relationships are not considered material.

HSBC’s Group Chair, Brendan Nelson, emphasized Christianson’s deep banking knowledge and experience in strategically important markets like Hong Kong and Mainland China. He anticipates her experience will be a valuable asset to the Board.
