James Cropper Lifts Full-Year EBITDA Outlook on Strong Paper & Packaging Half

James Cropper (AIM: CRPR) said today that trading in the first half of its financial year was ahead of the Board’s expectations. The AIM-listed group issued the update at 6am UK time, before the London open.

The statement covers the six months ended the 26th of September. The company said the outperformance came principally from a much stronger than anticipated showing by Paper & Packaging, which makes premium creative papers, moulded fibre packaging and recycled-fibre products. It put the gain down to a combination of revenue growth and cost management.

As a result, the Board expects adjusted EBITDA for the year ending the 27th of March 2027 to be about 10% to 20% ahead of current market expectations of £9.4m. The company calculates that as a range of approximately £10.3m to £11.3m.

EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation.

Chief Executive Officer David Stirling credited the group’s own actions for the progress.

The progress reflects the benefits of the actions we have taken to improve operational performance alongside continued positive momentum across the Group. As a result, our expectations for full-year Adjusted EBITDA have increased by 10-20%.

Further detail on trading and the outlook will come with the interim results, which James Cropper said will be published in November. No date has been given.
