Mastercard Stock Notches Fifth Straight Daily Gain
Mastercard shares rose for a fifth straight session yesterday, closing at $574.76 and leaving the credit services group, valued at $483.8bn, still 4.2% below its 52-week high.
Mastercard (NYSE: MA) shares closed at $574.76 yesterday, their fifth consecutive daily gain. The credit services group, valued at $483.8bn, has risen in each of the past five sessions.
The shares gained 0.8% yesterday, trading between $568.49 and $581.59, on 1.25 times their 20-session average volume. They finished 4.2% below the 52-week high and 22.1% above the 52-week low, and are up 1.2% so far this year.
Mastercard’s daily share price change over the 45 days to Thursday, with the five-session run highlighted.
How unusual this is
Five sessions of gains is a solid run but not an exceptional one. Across 320 sessions of history, which begins in September 2021, the longest unbroken run of gains for Mastercard was eight sessions, and it ended in November 2023. Yesterday’s run is therefore shorter than that benchmark.
