RELX Reaffirms Outlook After 7% Nine-Month Growth Led by Legal and Risk

RELX, the information and analytics group, said underlying revenue grew 7% over the first nine months of 2026 and kept its full-year outlook, with AI-enabled tools supporting growth in its Risk, Legal and scientific publishing divisions.

RELX (LON: REL), the information and analytics group, reported underlying revenue growth of 7% for the first nine months of 2026 and reaffirmed its full-year outlook. The growth rates are at constant currency and exclude acquisitions, disposals, assets held for sale, print and print-related products, exhibition cycling and timing effects.

Shares in the FTSE 100 company were quoted at 2,978p at 8.26am, up 5p, or 0.17%, from yesterday’s close of 2,973p, itself a 1.5% rise on the day. The stock is down 1.39% this year and 15.2% below its highest close in 12 months, 3,510p, on the 27th of October 2025.

Legal grew fastest, with underlying revenue up 10%, followed by Risk at 8% and Scientific, Technical and Medical (STM) at 6%. Exhibitions, the events business, rose 4%, with RELX saying growth was held back by disruption in the Middle East.

RELX pointed to AI-enabled tools across the divisions. In Risk, it cited Financial Crime Compliance, Fraud and Identity, and insurance contributory databases, which pool data from multiple insurers.

In STM, the company said feedback on LeapSpace, its research-grade AI workspace, has been very positive, with rapid usage growth, while article submissions are growing very strongly. In Legal, it has an integrated AI legal research platform with agentic capabilities, meaning tools that carry out tasks themselves.

For the full year, Risk, STM and Legal each expect underlying adjusted operating profit growth to exceed underlying revenue growth. Exhibitions expects strong underlying revenue growth excluding the Middle East impact, and a better adjusted operating margin.

At group level, RELX expects strong growth in revenue, adjusted operating profit and adjusted earnings per share at constant currency.

Line chart of RELX share price in pence over the past year, climbing to a peak in October 2025, then dropping sharply on 3 February 2026, before partially recovering through to October 2026 while remaining below the earlier peak.
RELX shares closed at 2,973p on the 21st of October 2026, recovering after a sharp fall in early February but still below the 3,510p close of the 27th of October 2025.

The shares fell about 14% on the 3rd of February, closing at 2,214p from 2,585p, and hit a 12-month closing low of 2,013p on the 11th of February. The current quote is 47.9% above that low.
