RentGuarantor Holdings (LON: RGG), which provides rent guarantee services to tenants and landlords, saw its shares jump on Wednesday after an unaudited trading update revealed revenue up 472% and a swing to profit for the eight months to 31 August.
The AIM-listed stock opened at 92.5p and traded as high as 94p, up from Tuesday’s close of 78.5p, extending a rally that has already lifted the shares roughly five-fold over the past year.
The RNS trading update, released this morning, showed revenue for the eight months to 31 August rising 472% year-on-year to £8.45m, from £1.48m, with August alone up 1,273% to £3.17m from £231,000. The company swung from an adjusted net loss of £392,000 a year earlier to an adjusted net profit of £2.87m. The board now expects full-year revenue and profit to come in materially above prior market expectations, targeting revenue above £14m and net profit above £4m for 2026.

RentGuarantor attributed the growth to the UK’s Renters’ Rights Act, which it said is pushing higher-value tenants toward professional rent guarantors rather than paying several months’ rent upfront. Contracts completed rose 311% to 8,257, while average contract value climbed 39% to £1,024, showing growth from both more customers and higher-value business. Cash strengthened to £7.5m at the end of August from £2.4m at the end of June.
Chief executive Paul Foy said: “Building on the momentum generated over the first eight months of the year, we remain confident in the Group’s prospects for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.”
Even before today’s jump, the stock traded on stretched valuation multiples, with a forward price-to-earnings ratio of around 94 times and a price-to-sales ratio of about 27 times, underlining how sensitive the shares remain to further newsflow from the small-cap company.
