Vodafone Group Plc (LON:VOD) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Skaylink GmbH, a leading cloud, digital transformation, and security specialist, from funds managed by Waterland for €175 million.
The acquisition is expected to enhance Vodafone's business services and accelerate growth in key areas.
The deal will provide Vodafone’s business and public sector clients with access to a broader suite of digital services and support, leveraging Skaylink's expertise in cloud deployments, migrations across Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, and AI solutions.
Skaylink's team of over 500 professionals will be integrated into Vodafone Business.
The €175 million acquisition price reflects the strategic value Vodafone places on expanding its digital service offerings. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of March 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
This move aligns with Vodafone Business’s strategic ambition to bolster its capabilities in high-growth areas such as security, managed services, and cloud solutions.
AskTraders Takeaway
The acquisition of Skaylink is likely to be viewed positively by the markets, signalling Vodafone’s proactive approach to adapting to the growing demand for digital transformation services. The deal could act as a catalyst for increased investor confidence in Vodafone's long-term growth prospects.
