Avon Technologies Wins $20.3m US Combat Helmet Order

Avon Technologies (LON: AVON), the UK-listed maker of military and law-enforcement protective equipment, said its Team Wendy Ceradyne unit has received a $20.3m delivery order from the US Defense Logistics Agency for ACH GEN II combat helmets.

Shares closed at 1800p on Tuesday and were quoted at 1795p in pre-market trade, down 0.28%, a move that predates the RNS release and is not a reaction to it. That sits within the stock’s 52-week range of 1453.37p to 2157.03p, below the near-2000p peak reached in mid-August.

The order is a delivery order, a specific purchase placed under an existing framework contract rather than a new one. It falls under the ACH GEN II framework agreement first announced in February 2022, and takes the current option year, an annual renewal period within that multi-year deal, to its maximum authorised ordering volume, a signal of the agency’s confidence rather than an expanded contract.

Chief executive Jos Sclater said the award was “another strong endorsement of Team Wendy’s performance and reliability,” adding that filling the option year to capacity “demonstrates the confidence DLA has in our ability to manufacture and deliver ACH Gen II helmets to schedule.” He said the deal “helps cement our continued, long-term relationship with the customer on ACH in the coming years and reflects the progress Team Wendy has made in operational performance, execution and reliability.”

Avon operates through two divisions, Avon Protection and Team Wendy, whose products protect more than 4 million service personnel and first responders across over 70 markets. The order confirms the agency is buying at full pace under existing terms rather than widening the contract’s scope.
