IWG Lifts Buyback to Up to $200m; Shares Higher in Early Trade

International Workplace Group has lifted its 2026 share buyback by up to $50m to up to $200m, and the shares were higher in early trade, having slid to near the bottom of their three-month range.

International Workplace Group (LON: IWG) shares were higher in early trade today, the day the company raised its 2026 share buyback by up to $50m, to up to $200m. A buyback is when a company spends its own cash to repurchase its shares.

By 9.25am, the shares were at 181.6p, up 7.9p or 4.55% on yesterday’s close of 173.7p. They opened at 179.0p and have traded between 177.1p and 183.7p.

The programme has been announced in tranches, the first on the 31st of December 2025 and the latest before today’s on the 30th of June. Up to $200m less an increase of up to $50m implies a previous programme of up to $150m, so today’s increase adds up to one third.

The buyback runs under authority shareholders granted at the AGM on the 19th of May, covering up to 145,918,746 ordinary shares. After purchases made since then, the company can still buy a maximum of 122,142,744 shares. It also confirmed it currently has no unpublished inside information.

Shares had been weak. Yesterday’s close of 173.7p sat near the bottom of the three-month range, which runs from a low close of 171.5p to a high close of 202.8p.

The shares are about 21.5% lower this year, measured from the 231.4p close on the 31st of December. Even after today’s gain they remain below both their 50-day moving average of 184.2p and their 200-day average of 197.8p.
