Wickes Group Shares Rally After Interim Results Beat Expectations

Wickes Group (LON: WIX) shares have risen sharply on Tuesday after the DIY retailer posted interim results showing volume-led growth and reaffirmed its full-year profit guidance.

The stock climbed as much as 6.9% to around 188.7p, recovering from Monday’s close of 176.6p, as investors welcomed signs of resilience in the consumer environment.

For the 26 weeks to 27 June 2026, Wickes reported total revenue of £865.3m, up 2.1% year-on-year, with Retail revenue rising 0.8% despite 2.4% deflation, and Design & Installation revenue up 5.7% on a strong order book. Adjusted profit before tax increased 1.1% to £27.6m, while statutory profit before tax rose to £24.6m from £24.2m. The company also lifted its interim dividend by 2.8% to 3.7p per share.

Investors appeared particularly encouraged by the trading update, which pointed to a “significantly improved trend” in the third quarter, with Retail like-for-like revenue growth stepping up to mid-single digits.

Wickes said it remains on track to meet consensus expectations of roughly 10% growth in adjusted pre-tax profit for 2026, supported by productivity measures and lower business rates.

Chief Executive David Wood highlighted record TradePro membership, now at 671,000 active members, and continued momentum in bathrooms and kitchens as evidence of the broader appeal of the group’s offer.

With net cash of £151.6m and a pipeline of new store openings supporting its ambition to reach 300 locations, the market reaction suggests renewed confidence in Wickes’ growth strategy despite an uncertain consumer backdrop.
