Revenue for the quarter ended 30 September was $3,657.6m, up 58.5% from $2,308.3m a year earlier and well above the company’s own $3.3bn guidance. Yahoo Finance consensus from 23 analysts was $3.33bn, so the quarter beat by roughly 10%.

Non-GAAP earnings per share, which strip out items such as share-based pay, were $1.20 against $0.77 a year ago and the $1.08 Yahoo Finance consensus from 26 analysts. The non-GAAP operating margin rose to 49.1% from 48.6%, though non-GAAP gross margin slipped to 64.0% from 65.2%.

The guidance is the bigger signal. Arista expects fourth-quarter revenue of $3.9bn to $4.0bn and non-GAAP EPS of $1.26 to $1.30, against Yahoo Finance consensus of $3.6bn and $1.15. The low end of both ranges sits above the highest analyst estimates, $3.8bn and $1.22.
