Everyman Media Group (LON: EMAN) has announced a leadership change, with Chief Executive Alex Scrimgeour stepping down from his role with immediate effect.

The news comes not long after the company warned over sales and profits following poor box office trading.

The cinema operator said Non-Executive Director Farah Golant will take over as interim chief executive while the board conducts an external search for a permanent replacement.

Golant will work closely with the wider management team and the board during the transition. Everyman said it will provide a further update on the recruitment process “as soon as practicable.”

Philip Jacobson, Non-Executive Chairman, thanked Scrimgeour for his contribution, highlighting his leadership during a pivotal period for the company.

“We would like to thank Alex for his commitment to Everyman throughout his tenure,” he said. “He has played a pivotal role in the team that successfully led the business through its recovery from COVID, more than doubling revenue and delivering significant EBITDA growth. He has also built a strong and capable operational team.”

Jacobson added that Golant brings substantial experience in the global creative, entertainment and media sectors, with a proven ability to accelerate growth and build high-performance organisations.

“Working alongside our leadership group, she will continue to deliver exceptional customer experiences, focus on driving sustainable growth, and create long-term value for shareholders,” he commented.
