Frontier Developments Shares Jump on Record FY26 Results

Frontier Developments (LON: FDEV) has risen more than 6% on Wednesday after the Cambridge-based video games developer and publisher reported record financial results for the year ended 31 May 2026, alongside news of a special dividend and an expanded content pipeline.

The AIM-listed group posted revenue of £104.8 million for FY26, up 16% from £90.6 million a year earlier, driven largely by the success of Jurassic World Evolution 3 and continued strength in the Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo franchises.

Adjusted operating profit climbed 62% to £21.4 million, a company record, while statutory operating profit nearly doubled to £25.0 million. Basic earnings per share increased 76% to 74.6p.

Investors appeared to welcome the announcement of a £5.0 million special dividend, equivalent to 14.1p per share, payable on 9 October, alongside confirmation that cash stood at £51.4 million as of 31 August.

The company also confirmed that £15.5 million spent on share buybacks during the year had reduced total voting rights by 10%, boosting EPS further.

Beyond the numbers, traders may also be reacting positively to Frontier’s growth roadmap, which includes the upcoming release of Planet Zoo 2 on 13 October, a new Warhammer 40,000 title, and a previously announced partnership with Disney to develop a game using its IP portfolio.

New CEO Jo Cooke said the results reflected the strength of the company’s strategy, with the board expressing confidence in delivering FY27 in line with expectations.
