IXICO Jumps on £2.7m Huntington’s Contract

IXICO has won a £2.7m, six-year Phase 3 Huntington's disease contract, and its shares closed almost a fifth higher. The deal is small against annual revenue, which makes the size of the move the story.

IXICO (LON: IXI) shares jumped 19.1% today after the AIM-listed brain-scan analytics group won a £2.7m, six-year global Phase 3 Huntington’s disease contract. The London-based company analyses brain scans for neurological drug trials. A Phase 3 trial is the final large-scale drug test before approval, and the news came at 7am, before the market opened.

The shares closed at 14p, up from 11.75p on Friday, after trading between 12p and 16.5p, which is a new 52-week high. About 2.65m shares changed hands, against 95,088 on Friday. The close is 87% above 7.5p on 1 October.

The contract is with an unnamed international biotech company, and the announcement gave no start date. It is IXICO’s second Phase 3 Huntington’s win in 12 months and follows two Alzheimer’s contract wins in late October. Chief executive Bram Goorden said:

This contract is another strong endorsement of IXICO’s leading position in the neurodegenerative disease field. It also demonstrates our continued progress in strengthening our order book through an increasing contribution from later-stage clinical trials, providing long-term revenue visibility and supporting our growth ambitions.

Spread evenly, £2.7m over six years is about £0.45m a year, roughly 5% of the £8.3m of FY2026 revenue that broker Cavendish expects, up 28% on the year. The value lies in long-dated, late-stage visibility rather than an immediate step-up. Cavendish puts the order book, contracted work not yet booked as revenue, at £16m.

IXICO share price, three months to 2 November 2026, jumping on the day of the contract announcement
IXICO shares jumped on 2 November 2026, the day it announced the £2.7m Phase 3 contract.

Cavendish Capital Markets, IXICO’s nominated adviser and sole broker, so not independent of the company, reiterated its Buy rating and 26p target. It said the win adds to about £8m of new Huntington’s contracts in the first half of FY2026, while two programmes worth a combined £1.5m were dropped by their sponsors. It forecasts £9m revenue in FY2027.

Cavendish published its note the same morning as the announcement, so the two effects on the shares cannot be separated. Audited full-year FY2026 results have not yet been published.
