TotalEnergies and KKR Add 700MW US Solar to JV, $1.2bn Enterprise Value

TotalEnergies and KKR are adding three US solar assets totalling 700MW to their joint venture, in a portfolio carrying an enterprise value of $1.2bn, with TotalEnergies staying on as the operator.

TotalEnergies and KKR have agreed to add 700MW of US solar capacity to the 50/50 joint venture they set up in 2025. The two companies announced the agreement at 7:44am London time.

The additions are three utility-scale solar assets in Texas and Ohio. They are expected to reach commercial operation by the first quarter of 2027, and their electricity has either been sold to third parties already or will be marketed by TotalEnergies.

The portfolio reflects an enterprise value of $1.2bn.

The joint venture currently holds 1.4GW of capacity, so completion would take it to 2.1GW. TotalEnergies will keep operating the assets, and completion is expected in 2026, subject to customary conditions.

For context, TotalEnergies had more than 37GW of gross renewable capacity at the end of June 2026. It aims for more than 100TWh of net electricity production by 2030.
